Aye-y-aye-y-aye-y-aye...
It's too easy to let things slip by. There's been so many little things happen, and some large, and I just haven't been on top of things. It's clear, from one lovely recent article (thanks O Motley), that
A number of people [take] exception to the notion that LDS cinema [is] dead...[some argue] that the atmosphere of disbelief in the possibility of good LDS cinema was actually creating a perfect storm, in a sense, for a great Mormon film to break out.Personally, I think it's a lot of squabble. But it's still a pretty good article on the state of Mormon cinema, and worthy of a peek.
Other snippets of goings on:
- The rise and fall of the quintessential American story? At least he made it to 100. Wikipedia keeps you up to date on what didn't happen to the movie.
- Believe...or disbelieve.
- And now you can get them both as bookends to your complete Mormon cinema library.
- This is older, but it needs posting: Extreme Mormons. What makes it funnier is the serious attention it's given.
American Fork (the best title ever with the word "American" in it) details are released.- So too one Skousen firstborn's details are rounded out a little more.
- Hess might be in talks for Captain America (perhaps the next best title with "America"...okay maybe not really, but I've always loved the superhero). Incomplete report here.
- And thanks to Paugh for pointing out Heder's move partly via the Heder brother trio's Greasy Entertainment. Original article here.
