free traffic, free website, free business, can I succeed

About 6 months ago, I stumbled upon The Surf Craze (Auto Surf and Manual Surf) and I was surprised to see this kind of advertising, So I picked my self a small website or affiliate site and added it to as many surf sites as possible and I would spend hours with as many windows open as possible jumping from site to site trying to surf as many as possible in return for my site to be seen and receive hits (with out much success), then I seen this other site something about these safelists, So I jumped on board the safelist craze, I luckily found some of the better safelists and signed up to about 5 and I was bombarded by offers”make a million” “email 700 000 000 members spam free” “blast 2000 000 blogs” “your ad’ seen by millions” after reading all these great emails I jumped on board a few and purchased a few websites, “I was going to be a millionaire in NO TIME, after all that was “Promised”, so I started using all these great blasters and safelists (surfing was over now).
I am/was a couple hundred dollars down now and had nothing to show, apart from 100s of ebooks, a few blasters and some websites, so I purchased some scripts and set up multiple websites, BUT still no traffic from all these blasters and apparent “millions of emails sent”.
So I stooped and thought what a crock and then came the “email blasters” I subscribed to 5-6 different email blasters (each one bragged a total 0f 2000 plus safelists and millions of combined members) I was spending hours upon hours signing up to safelists and confirming addresses, finding larger email boxes, This time I was set to make money (apparent Millions as promised) after all I was sending apparently close to a BILLION emails and blogs a day, BUT still no response.

So here I am today a little wiser and subscription free, promoting my new website based on all free products, sites, software, hosting, domain names, websites, add ons, scripts and of course a lot of free advertising, trying to see what I can do for free and only using freebies gathered from the net.

Of course traffic is building up and I may have to invest in an upgrade to handle the traffic, so I may have to dip into my pockets after all.

Conclusion:

Safelist Blasters:
End up getting spammed daily or more by Safelist Host.
Most email ends up in trash by auto cleaners.

Assorted “million email blasters”
Go to no-one and waste of cash.
Who are those millions of recipients?

Blog Blaster.
Claimed to reach 2 million blogs, but only reaches 500 max’ per blast.
Most/all blogs require registration and confirmation anyway.

Classified Blaster.
Required the same as above.
Most/all Classifieds require registration.

How To Stay Hydrated While Skiing

You want to save you money so you can ski more often and keep yourself hydrated at the same time? I’ll give you some tips.

Carry Your Own Water

When you downhill ski for an extended period of time, you have a tendency to sweat a lot – up to a quart of water per hour – because you are working hard. The key is to hydrate before you get thirsty, and drink regularly throughout the day.

The best way is to carry at least two quarts of water with you. Water is the best fluid to drink since our bodies are made up of 70% water. Fruit juice and soda pop are diuretics that can make you even thirstier after you consume them, so you want to avoid these fluids.

How do you carry two quarts of water with you?

Bring a Backpack

In the backpack you can put the water you need in two X 1-quart plastic containers, along with accessories and clothes. When you stop for a break on the slopes remove your backpack and pull out one of the water bottles. If you find that the extra weight on your back effects your skiing or that is quite difficult to removing a back pack two or three timer per hour, than it might be better to get a camel pack.

Get a Camel Pack

A camel pack is actually a vest that fits around your chest and is zipped or clipped in the front. The pack contains a reservoir that holds between one and three quarts of water or energy drink, as well as a tube that transports the fluid from the reservoir to your mouth on demand.

If you tuck the end of the tube inside your ski jacket you should be able to keep it from freezing up on most winter days, but some hydration packs come equipped with a system that prevents the delivery tube from freezing up.

You must make an initial investment for the pack, but you will recover this cost in one ski season by not buying bottled water, pop, and juice. And also you can use the camel pack for other sports like inline skating, hiking, and cycling to keep yourself hydrated during these summer activities.

Safety Tips For Travelers

BASIC SAFETY RULES
Research the country of your destination, get as much information as possible about the places you intend to visit. Get yourself familiar with local customs and regulations. Travelmake’s Destination Guides is a good place to start. Our online Travel Store offers a range of safety items for travelers. Here you can also purchase detailed maps, informative guidebooks, first aid kits and other items necessary for making your trip safe.

- Obtain travel insurance, preferably with the plan that provides direct, immediate payment to the medical provider.
- Before you leave, photocopy your documents and tickets so it would be easier to replace them if they are lost or stolen.
- Keep a low profile. Try to blend in with the locals as best you can. Leave expensive jewelry and precious valuables at home.
- Do not discuss your travel plans publicly.
- Stay alert, especially in high-risk countries.
- Do not expose your valuables (money, documents, jewelry, etc.), keep them locked in the hotel safe.
- Carry only small amounts of cash.
- Wear a consealed money belt, keep your essential documents and money in it.
- Each time you use your credit card, keep an eye on it until it is returned to you. Check credit cards when they are returned.
- Never leave your personal items unattended.
- Respect local customs and regulations.
- If you get into trouble, contact the nearest embassy.
- If you are unfamiliar with the local language, write down some key phrases in the local language.
- In case of theft, get a police report immediately if you’ll be making an insurance claim. Thefts of traveler’s checks must be reported within 24 hours.

AIR TRAVEL SAFETY TIPS
Check in as fast as you can and do not delay in the main terminal area. Do not discuss your travel plans with fellow passengers, crew, or even traveling companions. Get yourself familiar with exits and safe areas. Try to stay away from unattended baggage. Verify baggage claim checks before and after flight. Never leave your luggage unattended. Stay calm and alert. Try to occupy a window seat in the coach section. This position is less accessible by hijackers.

HOTEL SAFETY TIPS
Get a card with the hotel’s name and address. You can show it to a cab driver if you get lost. Stay in hotels on well-traveled streets in safer areas of the city of your destination.

Lower level floors are safer in case of fire. Although, avoid the first floor as it is the best location for burglars.

Get yourself familiar with the location of stairways, fire escapes routes, emergency exits and alarms.

Keep your hotel room door locked at all times. Before opening the door to a stranger, verify who it is. Never invite strangers into your hotel room.

Never leave your valuables (a camera, documents, jewelry, etc.) lying around where hotel employees can see them.

Before leaving you room for the day, put the “Do not disturb” sign on your door to give the impression that the room is occupied. When you are ready for the room to be cleaned, call the maid.
Use the hotel safe to store valuables.

Carry the room key with you, do not leave it at front desk.

Do not use your name when answering the phone.

When returning to your hotel at night, use the main entrance. Be observant before entering parking lots.

HOTEL FIRE SAFETY TIPS
If a fire starts take your key before leaving the room, as most hotel doors lock automatically. Do not use elevators during a fire. If you encounter heavy smoke in the stairwell, do not try to run through it, you may not make it. Turn around and walk up to the roof fire exit. If all exits are blocked or if there is heavy smoke in the hallway, you will be better off staying in your room. If there is smoke in your room, open a window and turn on the bathroom vent. If your phone works, call the desk to tell them where you are, or call the fire department to report your location in the building. Hang a bed sheet out the window as a signal. Fill the bathtub with water to use for fire fighting. Bail water onto your door or any hot walls. Stuff wet towels into cracks under and around doors where smoke can enter. Place a wet towel over your mouth and nose to help filter out smoke. If you are above the second floor, you will be better off fighting the fire in your room than jumping.

STREET SAFETY TIPS
Buy a map, familiarize yourself with the city and location of your hotel. With the help of hotel employees locate unsafe areas of the city and avoid visiting them by any means.

Do not stay out on the streets late at night. When walking, remain on wide, well-lit streets. If necessary, arrange for taxi service. Watch your drinks being poured. Never accept a drink from a stranger. Get advice from your hotel workers about reputable restaurants and other entertainment.
Never resist armed robbery, it could lead to violence.

We wish you a successful and safe trip!

The History Of Solar Power

With the recent rise in energy costs many people have been looking to alternative sources of energy. One of the greatest energy sources (our sun) is readily available for the taking. We just need to be able to harness it’s power. For those interested, below is a brief history of how solar power came to be.

The history of photovoltaic energy (aka. solar cells) started way back in 1876. William Grylls Adams along with a student of his, Richard Day, discovered that when selenium was exposed to light, it produced electricity. An electricity expert, Werner von Siemens, stated that the discovery was “scientifically of the most far-reaching importance”. The selenium cells were not efficient, but it was proved that light, without heat or moving parts, could be converted into electricity.

In 1953, Calvin Fuller, Gerald Pearson, and Daryl Chapin, discovered the silicon solar cell. This cell actually produced enough electricity and was efficient enough to run small electrical devices. The New York Times stated that this discovery was “the beginning of a new era, leading eventually to the realization of harnessing the almost limitless energy of the sun for the uses of civilization.”

The year is 1956, and the first solar cells are available commercially. The cost however is far from the reach of everyday people. At $300 for a 1 watt solar cell, the expense was far beyond anyone’s means. 1956 started showing us the first solar cells used in toys and radios. These novelty items were the first item to have solar cells available to consumers.

.In the late 1950′s and early 1960′s satellites in the USA’s and Soviet’s space program were powered by solar cells and in the late 1960′s solar power was basically the standard for powering space bound satellites.

In the early 1970′s a way to lower to cost of solar cells was discovered. This brought the price down from $100 per watt to around $20 per watt. This research was spearheaded by Exxon. Most off-shore oil rigs used the solar cells to power the waning lights on the top of the rigs.

The period from the 1970′s to the 1990′s saw quite a change in the usage of solar cells. They began showing up on railroad crossings, in remote places to power homes, Australia used solar cells in their microwave towers to expand their telecommunication capabilities. Even desert regions saw solar power bring water to the soil where line fed power was not an option!

Today we see solar cells in a wide variety of places. You may see solar powered cars. There is even a solar powered aircraft that has flown higher than any other aircraft with the exception of the Blackbird. With the cost of solar cells well within everyone’s budget, solar power has never looked so tempting.

Recently new technology has given us screen printed solar cells, and a solar fabric that can be used to side a house, even solar shingles that install on our roofs. International markets have opened up and solar panel manufacturers are now playing a key role in the solar power industry.

When Did You Last Have A Good Sleep

Tempurpedic Mattresses, generically known as Memory Foam, are becoming more popular every day. However, with all the different choices and prices of foam on the market, the consumer should know about the major differences between these products before paying a major amount of money for a bed they will be sleeping on for many years. It adapts to the contours of the body much better than an innerspring mattress. Each person has different preferences due to weight and sleeping habits. The best thing to do is to visit your local bed store and try laying down on a few different models. (When the sales staff have to wake you up, you know you’ve found the right brand.)

The importance of a good night’s sleep can’t be overstated. No-one functions well on lack of sleep. The majority of people in the western world are sleep-deprived, and sleep deprivation is a significant cause of accidents. Remember the Exxon Valdez? That accident took place in the early hours of the morning, and industrial accidents peak on the midnight shift. Students who are sleep-deprived learn poorly. Chronic sleep deprivation affects the appetite centers of the brain, causing overeating and subsequent obesity. Any bed system conducive to a deeper, more restful sleep improves your quality of life.

There are several advantages to memory foam over a conventional mattress: it’s hypoallergenic, molds to fit anyone’s body, and provides some insulation on cold nights so you need fewer heavy, dusty blankets and comforters. All the pressure points that cause discomfort, and subsequent tossing and turning, are eliminated.

Tempurpedic is the brand name of the pioneer of memory foam, a company in Sweden. It’s the top-of-the-line product, but expensive, and there are dozens of cheaper competing brands, some made in America, some in China or other countries. HOWEVER, be warned: not all memory foam products are alike, as with any merchandise, you tend to get what you pay for, both in quality and longevity.

Memory foam is visco-elastic, and it responds to temperature changes much as bubble gum does. Good quality memory foam has a wide range of temperature responsiveness, but some of the cheaper brands can become as hard as wood if you let the bedroom go below 60 degrees. Eventually, as you change position the foam warms up and responds to your body shape, but this can take a few minutes, during which time you will be uncomfortable and may wake up. And cheaper brands may become too soft on hot summer nights, offering no support. Better brands of memory foam, such as Sensus and Temperpedic, specifically state their consistent performance through a wide temperature range.

Another issue is the longevity of the memory foam before it finally breaks down and loses its springiness. Better memory foams offer longer guarantees, 20 years, whereas the cheaper brands offer 10 years.

So, in summary, you don’t have to buy the most expensive product, but don’t buy the cheapest either. You’ll spend many nights regretting your decision. A few hundred dollars extra isn’t really a lot when spread out over decades of memory foam mattress use.

As well as differences in quality, there are also differences in memory foam mattress construction. Mattresses can have either 3 or 4 inches of memory foam over a denser supportive core, and more is not always better, because if the top layer of memory foam is too thick, you’ll sink in quite far before hitting the supporting layer underneath. Stomach sleepers should buy 2 inch foam, side sleepers and medium sized people should purchase mattresses with 3 inch memory foam, very large people or back sleepers should buy the 4 inch.

The base of the bed can vary as well. Some models feature loose sheets of foam of different firmness levels that can be arranged to the sleeper’s personal taste, others are laminated together. Also, man-made (petrochemical foam products) are about 1/3 the cost of natural latex. People who are sensitive to out-gassing of man-made products should consider a natural product.

Rihanna mixes carribean roots and R&B

Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is an R&B singer from the Caribbean island of Barbados. Rihanna was first discovered in Barbados by music producer, Evan Rogers, who along with his partner Carl Sturken, assisted Rihanna in recording a demo to be sent to record labels like Def Jam.

Upon auditioning for CEO Jay-Z, Rihanna was signed right there on the spot. In August 2005, she released her debut album, Music of the Sun, which she co-wrote. The album peaked within the top ten in the U.S., Canada, and the top forty in the U.K., propelled by the hit single Pon de Replay, which climbed to #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. That year, Rihanna also toured with Gwen Stefani, which undoubtedly helped promote the album.

In April 2006, Rihanna released her sophomore album, A Girl Like Me, which would peak at #5 in the U.S. and #6 in the U.K. The lead single, SOS (Rescue Me), climbed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Hot Dance Music/Club Play, and became the biggest first week digital single ever, selling over 169,000 copies in its first week.

Her second single, Unfaithful, written by Ne-Yo, became her third top 10 hit in the U.S. Rihanna has several endorsement deals under her belt, including ones for Nike and J.C. Penney. She also had a cameo role in Bring It On 3.

New Business Start Up: How Do I Get A Web Presence Fast?

Imagine you have just built a fantastic professional website with your site builder. It looks good and quite enticing to people who may chance upon it. Why did I say chance upon it? Well, there are zillions of websites in this world and may be thousands of them in your field of business which you have just started with. Time is important and you cannot afford to lose your business even for one day. You have to pick up and get going. How do you make sure that you have a web presence fast? Here are some of the best ways to ensure that your success is concrete, not based on chance.

Search engine optimization: Search engine optimization (SEO) is really important for anyone who wants people to visit his or her website. You may have the best of the flashy ads and animations on your web pages but you will have people coming to your website only because of your listings and high rankings in search engines and directories. A person might enter a keyword in the search engine and then click on any of the first two pages of the search engine tools. So, if you want to have a powerful web presence, you have to get noticed and the only way this can be done is by ensuring that your pages get listed on the first couple of pages of the search engines.

There should be one phrase that should capture the soul of the webpage. This is also known as the target phrase. It will summarize on what the webpage is about. Your target phrase should contain specific and relevant information. Search engine optimization could go awry for you if you try to put words and phrases which is not congruent with the content of the page. If you overuse words like sex and love, just because they are quite popular; your page will not be optimized to the best level possible. So it is better to stick to the proper keywords.

Your target phrase should be the ones that people normally associate with. For example, if you check website tools which check on the popularity of the target phrase, you will see that the word help is more frequently used compared to advice. So the content which you write in some of your web pages should be keyword rich and they should be included in the title tags and Meta tags as well. In fact, a title tag for each of your web pages is the best way to optimize the search engine. This can be done by right-clicking anywhere on the webpage editing program page and selecting Page Properties. You can type in a tag which consists of around 60 characters inclusive of punctuation below the Title.

The title should contain a brief description of the page with a couple of keywords as well. Most of the web pages editing software now have the feature by which you can add the Meta tags easily. You have to right-click on the webpage and you get a box where you can add the three Meta tags namely title, description and keywords.

Affiliate Programs: This will ensure that you start making money on your website fast and easily. After having built the site with the help of the site builder and made the best use of SEO and keyword rich content, you can give a thought about affiliate programs. You add links to your site that will take the people to a page where they can buy the products or service of another company. It is all about making money by selling a product or selling which belongs to some one else without actually making an attempt to sell or market them. If the visitors make a purchase from that particular website, you earn a commission. Affiliate programs are free and though it sounds quite convincing to join a lot of affiliate programs, you can smartly choose the ones which sell products and service that matters to you. Give links to sites that provide stuff that is relevant to your website.

Position yourself correctly: You do not have to sell products and services, you have to share information. You have to make people buy what you are offering rather than stuffing your products and services down their throats. Your aim should be to create a hunger in their psyche to know more about you and click one more webpage of yours to know what else you have in store (no pun intended!). When you are selling them a site builder tool, educate them about the untapped areas of e-commerce and how they can save and earn a lot of money from e-commerce, how they can protect themselves from online frauds, and how they safeguard the private information on their computer. You are not only marketing your webpage effectively but in the same time, you are making your prospects learn new things as you create another area of potential business.

Write an expert article: Keep it a target to write a thought provoking informative and interesting article or two each week and submit it to the article directories. When they see your name and the link of your website, you will get fresh traffic and flow of people checking your website. You become more familiar (read famous) and soon you will find your article and your matter sneaking in other pages, where publishers will e-publish your articles on their ezines and websites. Most importantly your article should not look like you are selling something. Your article should be around 750-1200 pages with an interesting introduction.

Blog: Blog is also a fantastic information giving tool. You can subtly pass on information about your business through the blog. Again here dont make it obvious that you are here to sell something. Make your blog interesting with humour, personal experiences and also information relevant to your line of business. Try to post your views and thoughts as much as possible so that lot of people, directories and search engines identify with your content easily.

The Customer Newsletter: Make it a point to personalize your relationship with your prospects and customer in a professional way. Most of the people who come across your mails in the inbox will have a tendency to delete them if they do not know you. They hate marketing gimmicks, so stay away from them. However make sure that you attract their attention with a winning and curiosity seeking title on the news-letter that you send. In the letter, make sure that you give them what you do best meaning information including handy tips and advice. A bonus or a small gift will also forge a strong relationship with your clientele.

So, you see apart from making a good site with the help of a sitebuilder, you should have the foresight to spread the word of your business through the best practical and information sharing means. Knowledge and sharing what you know is truly the power and key to all riches!

Machinima – Gaming And Flimmaking Converge

This word is a combination of the terms ‘machine’ and ‘cinema’ and it was created to describe an intriguing artistic form developed by computer gamers that also happen to be a new form of “modder”. For years, modders have been adapting the structure of computer games – usually a first person “shooters” – to build new “levels.” Most of these games are broken into sequences; what modders have been doing is devising their own level or “maps” that are, in essence, additional game content, presenting the player with new obstacles and new interactions with the villains.

Financial Terminology: Jargon Buster A – E

A

1. Account holder
The person who has a personal loan account.

2. Advance
The mortgage loan itself is called the advance.

3. APR (Annual Percentage Rate)
An interest rate designed to show you the total annual cost of getting credit. It should include all the interest and charges payable by you as a condition of taking the loan. Where taking Payment Protection Insurance is a condition of taking the loan, this should also be included in the APR. The typical APR is the APR that 66% of customers applying for the providers credit card can expect to get.

4. Applicant
You become an applicant when you complete and submit an application form for a personal loan.

5. Applied or nominal interest rate
The rate used to calculate the interest due on your mortgage.

6. Arrangement fee
The fee payable to the loan provider by you (the applicant) to open the account.

7. Arrears
Mortgage payments which have not been paid and are overdue.

B

1. Bank of England base rate
The Bank of England sets or reviews their interest rate on a monthly basis and this is the main factor influencing interest rates charged by mortgage and other lenders.

2. Buildings insurance
Covers your actual building(bricks and mortar) and is usually required as soon as you exchange contracts on your house.

C

1. Capital
The amount you owe excluding costs and any interest outstanding.

2. Capital and interest mortgage
This is when your monthly payments go to pay off the outstanding mortgage in addition to the interest on the mortgage. At the end of the term you will have no more to pay. Also called a repayment mortgage.

3. Capped rate
This is a mortgage where a maximum interest rate is agreed which the rate cannot go above. This deal lasts for a set period of months or years. Should the variable rate go below the maximum, the pay rate falls with it.

4. Cashback
An amount, either fixed or a percentage of a mortgage, which you can opt to receive when you complete your mortgage. The lender will likely claw back this money through a higher interest rate.

5. Charge-off
The removal of an account from a loan provider’s books. When an account is charged off, the loan provider absorbs the outstanding balance as a loss. Charge-off is also referred to as Write-off.

6. Closing administration charge
A final charge made by the lender to cover their administration costs when a mortgage is fully repaid.

7. Completion
This is end of the mortgage process, when the contracts are signed, all questions have been answered and the keys are handed over and the funds transferred. Happy moving!

8. Consumer Credit Act (CCA)
The Act which defines how personal loans may be advertised, and what rules need to be followed by loan providers in the presentation of loan features such as the interest rate and typical APR that are applicable. The Act also covers the information that needs to be available to the consumer such as product terms and conditions.

9. Contents insurance
Insurance that covers your personal belongings

10. Contract
A contract is a binding agreement between two and more parties. In the context of house buying, a contract is signed by both the buyer and the seller and then ‘exchanged’ between the respective solicitors, at which point the house sale is binding on both sides.

11. Conveyancing
The legal work involved in the sale or purchase of land.

12. Credit Reference Agency (CRA)
An agency that gathers and maintains information on the debts and repayment records of individuals and businesses. CRAs prepare reports that are used by personal loan providers to view an applicant’s credit history. There are two such agencies for consumer credit in the UK – Experian and Equifax.

13. Credit scoring
The process by which your credit worthiness is checked. Weights or ‘scores’ are associated with your personal attributes, such as your income and the time spent at your current address. These ‘scores’ are added to give a total credit score. Each total credit score is associated with a prediction of how likely a person with that score is to default. The loan provider then checks this score against the minimum required to be accepted for their loan, determining whether they accept you or not.

D

1. Debt consolidation
The process of combining all outstanding debts in one loan account. For example, you may have an existing loan with a balance of 2,500, a credit card balance of 1,000 and a store card balance of 500. These could all be consolidated into one loan of 4,000. The purpose is usually to lower monthly repayments, through either lower interest rates on the new loan, or lower repayments from an extended repayment term, or both.

2. Default
Non-payment of an account according to the terms of the loan agreement. If you are declared in default, your account may be subject to higher interest rate and other charges. Failure to keep up with repayments may result in the fact being registered at the two main consumer credit agencies in the UK- Experian and Equifax. This may reduce your chances of obtaining credit in the future. If the loan is secured against your home, your home may also be at risk.

3. Deferred payment
Delayed payment. Also referred to as a deferred start, this facility allows you to delay the date on which the first repayment is due. The deferred period could be from one to three months, meaning a loan opened on the 1st January may not require repayments to start until 1st April.

4. Deposit
The deposit paid towards the total price of the property, normally payable at exchange of contracts.

5. Direct debit
Apre-authorized debit on the payer’s account initiated by the payee. Most loan providers would require you to set up a direct debit to make the monthly repayments on the loan.

6. Discounted rate
This is where the lender makes a guaranteed reduction off the standard variable rate for an agreed period of time. After the period ends, the borrower will go onto the Standard variable rate. often used by loan providers as an added incentive to apply for a loan.

7. Drawdown date
The date when the contracts have been completed and the mortgage starts.

E

1. Early repayment charge (ERC) / Early settlement penalty
The charge payable to some loan providers should the loan be repaid in full before the full term of the loan has expired. For example, an arranged loan over 36 months may incur an ERC if it is repaid after 24 months, or any point before the 36 months has been reached. The average ERC can amount to the equivalent of 2 months interest.

2. Early redemption charges
Redemption is when the borrower pays off the capital and the interest on the mortgage and thus has full rights to the property. Early redemption fees are the charges incurred for paying off the mortgage early, either to buy the house outright or when you re-mortgage. Always ask about these before you take out a mortgage.

3. Endowment
Endowments are life assurance policies with an investment element designed to pay off the outstanding capital on an interest-only mortgage. There are a few types of endowments, such as ‘with profits’, ‘unitised with profits’ and ‘unit-linked’. in the 1980s, these were sold to customers by salesman who promised that they would be guaranteed to pay off the mortgage at the end of the term. This is not the case, and many endowment holders are having to bump up their premiums.

4. Equity
In housing terminology, equity is the difference between the value of the property and the money owed on the property. So if the property is valued at 200,000 and you owe 150,000 on the mortgage, you have equity of 50,000. If you sold at that moment, you would receive 50,000. Should the value of the home be less than the mortgage outstanding then you are in negative equity. Not to be confused with the stock market use of the word “equity”, which is completely different.

5. Exchange of contracts
In England and Wales (not Scotland), the point when both buyer and seller are legally bound to the transaction.

Scabies, What Should You Do Now?

Scabies can be a very itchy problem, one that can actually sneak up on you if you are not aware of where you have been sleeping or if you are not watching who you are coming into contact with during sports events. The disease, scabies is one that is a little bug, one that you cant see with your eyes, but one that will make a noticeable impression on your body. The tiny bug often lives in areas that are moist and warm on your body, such as the arm pits, or the genital areas, but can spread anywhere over the body.

Scabies is something that is not going to go away without taking medication. Scabies is a type of critter that is going to make your itch, and it seems as though the more you itch, the more you become even itchier, as this will also spread the critters to other areas of your body.

How do you get scabies?
Scabies is most often spread by touching the skin, by sleeping closely together, or having sex with another person who have scabies. Scabies is not something you can get by sitting on the toilet, or by casually walking by another person. If you are treating someone who has scabies, be sure to wear gloves and wash your hands while putting cream on the other persons body so you dont risk getting the disease. Often times between the fingers and under the nails are another way that people will transmit scabies and not even realize it.

The skin problem that causes tiny red bumps, that do not go away, that look like a rash actually are little bugs that are living in the skin. These things can be killed by simply using the scabies cream, putting it over your body for fifteen minutes, and then taking a shower. Repeating this process in just a few days is recommended to kill anything that may have hatched on the body since the last time you did take the cream.

It is recommended that you wash all your clothes in hot, very hot water and dry them completely in the dryer. You should use a bleach spray if possible on the bedding that you sleep on, and turn the mattress, using the bleach spray on the opposite side as well.

It doesnt take much to purchase the cream. In many of the online pharmacies, you dont even need a prescription to get the medication. If you dont have the medication, you will find it will spread, and you will find it very hard to ignore the itching on your body. Getting the cream is going to be the answer to solving this little problem. You dont have to tell anyone you have this problem, unless you have had a sleep over, shared some clothing that you took off and someone put on right away or if you are having sexually relations with someone. Remember only the closest physical contact is going to spread this disease.

What do you really need to go into business on the internet?

I have lost track of the number of discussion board posts and emails I have answered about that topic. I admit for those first venturing into the uncharted waters of internet business it can be challenging and more than a little daunting. There is a flood of products out there clamoring for your money and all claim to be absolutely essential to your success on the internet. Don’t buy it, they are all selling snake oil!

There are some essentials you will need (assuming that if you are reading this that you already have an email account and internet access) but you really can start out at the ground level with nothing but an idea and build your internet business up from there. You can start your business on a shoestring budget of just $10 a year. If you are ready for the fast track then you can start with as little as $10 month. If you are aiming for the penthouse then you can up your monthly budget to $30.

What are the essentials?

Ground level approach:

Create a blog account at one of the free blogging sites available online (we used to use Blogger.com but there are many other good options). This will serve as your internet base. It really is the cheapest and easiest way to get online today. Yes, you could create a free web site at one of the many available but blogs are more attractive to the search engines. Plus they offer you the ability to personalize it but most of your energy will be spent on content which is the king of the internet and the real reason you want an internet presence.

Now sign up for a free ClickBank affiliate acccount which will give you immediate access to something to sell –and the added advantage that many products also come with some handy content you can use to fill out your new blog. Sign up for a contextual or pay-per-click advertiser such as Google’s Adsense or Chikita and you’ll start earning from visitors as well as customers.

That’s it! You are now in business. Keep filling your blog and promoting it as well and you will soon start earning!

Shoestring approach:

This method is similar to the previous approach with one crucial difference — you purchase your own domain name. A domain name will cost you between $5 and $10 a year depending on whether you go .com or .info (or one of the many other options available). You don’t need to find a web host or create a site. Simply point the domain at your blog for now and continue with the development and promotion of your blog. The advantage of owning your own domain name is simply that later when you have the money, time, and knowledge to develop your web site that domain name will already exist and have filtered through the search engines. It also offers some marketing advantages that a free blog cannot.

Fast-track approach:

You host your own domain and offer your blog either as the site or as an addition to the site. You should be able to do this for between $10 and $20 a month with a reputable host that offers all the tools and utilities you might need for your current site. Maybe down the line you’ll need to upgrade but by then you’ll know your income and your needs.

Penthouse approach:

You add one final tool that will make your internet business complete — a mailing list tool. You can do this for just $20 a month and it will be worth every penny for sales, customer service, and promotional tool.

That’s it for just $90 you can have every tool you need to make hundreds or even thousands from your internet business and you can actually get by with a lot less than that for your initial startup.

Two final notes.

First, I did not include any budget in here for advertising because there are a lot of free ways you can get started advertising and promoting your site and I would recommend exhausting those options before you begin looking into spending money on advertising. By that time you may well have started to earn a profit from your internet venture and so you can have a better idea of the size of your advertising budget.

Second, if you plan to sell products yourself then you will need a payment processor. You can sign up for free with PayPal so that is no additional expenditure (you pay a percentage of each sale so it is self-funding) or you can sign up for vendor account with ClickBank which will cost you a one-time fee of $50 plus a percentage of each sale. I would not lay out a lot of money for a shopping cart program or one of the other programs that charges a monthly fee. I have done business with PayPal and ClickBank as my exclusive payment processors since 1999. Every so often I will investigate my other options and every time I stick with these simple, effective programs.

Good luck with your new internet venture!

Demon Possession is it real or just a mental disorder

Just about everyone these days has heard about ‘ demon possession ‘, it was made a household name by the 1973 movie ‘ The Exorcist ‘, and again it has become popular after the 2005 movie ‘ The Exorcism Of Emily Rose ‘. To myself and thousands of others, we have known and believed in demon possession for a long time from another source, the Holy Bible. The Bible written in sections or books, some more than a couple thousand years ago, tells us all we need to know about demon possession and that it is a very real condition.

Work At Home Online Instead Of At Work

The information super highway is quickly becoming the revenue super highway. Online, work-at-home opportunities are as common as pigeons in New York. Thousands of people are quitting their jobs, working from home and making money. If you have the motivation and some extra time, you can start own work-at-home online business.

So far this probably sounds like one of those e-mails you always delete advertising one of these so-called online businesses. Dont worry. Im not trying to sell you anything or even suggesting a specific online business that lets you work at home. This article is to let you know about some of the options. Its up to you to decide what will work for you.

USE YOUR PRIOR TRAINING OR SKILLS TO FREELANCE

No matter what your expertise is: writing, coding, painting, or contorting your body into odd shapes, there are websites out there designed to help you find jobs in that field that let you work at home. These sites operate in different ways. Some post job opportunities and allow members to bid on them while others post jobs and have respondents contact the clients directly. Some charge membership fees, some dont. Sites like craigslist.com or writerlance.com are wonderful examples of places to find freelance jobs that will let you work at home. Search engines are your friends when looking for a site that caters to your particular skills set. If you look hard enough, youre sure to find something.

WRITE ABOUT YOUR FIELD

Enter the wonderful world of blogging. Over the course of your life, youve learned a lot, both from success and failure. Maybe you know the best way to filet a salmon or how to count cards so the casino monitors cant catch you. Youd be surprised how many people are dying to know this information. If you have a halfway decent ability to write, consider starting a blog. If you can get people reading your blog, you can make money, no matter what you write about. The writing is only the bait. Its what you include with the writing that is the food on your plate.

When youre writing, think about your audience. Target your articles to a niche group, and then target all of your money making plans to that group. People are more responsive to a targeted campaign than a general one. Dont worry. Im getting to how to actually make the money.

HERE IT IS, THE MONEY MAKING PART OF YOUR WORK AT HOME BUSINESS!

There are a number of ways to make money online, both using a blog and not. One way is affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you put a link to someone elses site somewhere online, and the linked site pays you per click or a commission on every sale or registration. Affiliate marketing is great if you have a blog, especially if youve managed to acquire a readership. However, you dont have to be a blogger to take advantage of affiliate marketing. You can post the links on message boards or forums all over the Internet. Affiliate marketing can be a work at home business by itself.

Another opportunity is actually buying and selling things online. Books have been written about how to make money on e-bay or other auction sites, and for some this might be a viable home business. Others of you might have your own products to sell. Maybe you take nature photography or are in a band or do arts and crafts. Well, sell your photographs or struggling demo CD or those personalized dream-catchers online. Set yourself up a website, either by using a website design program, learning html, or hiring someone to design it for you (if youre smart, youll look to a local college and see if you can find a student looking for experience who would work for a reduced price or as a class project). Once you get your website up, you can do the rest of the marketing and selling work at home in front of your computer.

Online communities like Myspace or Friendster can be excellent tools to help you get your product onto the Internet market. Tapping into Myspace is tapping into millions of people worldwide. So if youre trying to sell that CD or those photographs, join several of these online communities and market to the other members. Just remember to fo us your profile around your product and business. Youll be amazed what you can accomplish having a community that size at your fingertips.

HAVE A PLAN

No matter which online work at home opportunity you choose, make sure that you think about it. Do real research into the ones you are using. Find out how other people have succeeded and failed. Make a concrete, long term business plan with short term, achievable goals. The people who wander haphazardly about the Internet, flitting from online business to online business are the ones who dont make much money. If you take the time to do it right, to make a plan and have a direction, then you can be one of those who work at home and still make money.

Intelligent Optimism Wins In Today’s World

The reality of today’s world seems to leave little room for optimism. Almost every news story can lead because it does bleed. We hear of critical food shortages in Africa, daily gang deaths on city streets, the profiteering from child pornography, and the climatic disasters prompted by global warming. Health care costs move up faster than a hummingbird in flight and more children now spout profanities as a regular part of speech. With such negativity, no wonder a 2004 U.S. government survey found that depression afflicts one in 10 adults 14 days a month or more.

You probably get depressed just reading the opening paragraph. But wait! There is hope. Not the cock-eyed optimism that became fodder for a song from the musical South Pacific, but rather what psychologists in France are calling “intelligent optimism.” Such optimism does not deny the reality of today’s world, but rather seeks to LEARN how to fashion a life amid such difficulties. Martin Seligman, the psychologist who had made optimism and happiness his life’s work, would agree with the French: optimism can be taught.

Consider these basic steps:

(1) Focus on what you can control. Don’t get carried away by circumstances you cannot change. You might not change global warming but you can control your energy consumption. You can’t stop the downsizing in your company but you can arm yourself with marketable skills.

(2) Reframe the event so that you are not a victim. There is always another way to view a situation. The flight cancellation that caused me to miss (and forfeit) a major engagement was not “planned” to “get” me. It just was. My choice is to figure out what I can do to help the current client and what I will put in the place of the cancelled work.

(3) Think “enough”. When we concentrate on what we don’t have, we miss all the many things we do have. The truth of the matter is that if you are reading this article, you do have enough computer power. You do have enough intelligence. You do have enough time.

(4) Cultivate optimistic responses. Like a farmer tending a field, optimism will never grow unless it is watered, fed, weeded and nourished. We all have days in which negativity can take over. And, sometimes, that is a WISE response because it keeps us grounded in reality. Just make sure it is reality and not the imagination making extraordinary leaps into conjecture. Weed out that conjecture. Ask what you can DO to see a result that gives you a sense of power. If we don’t cultivate such intelligent optimism, be aware of reality and willing to find options, then we might do what Alexander Graham Bell warned. “Stare so long at the closed door we fail to see the one that is opening.”

(5) Remember the power of generations. Children of depressed parents are more prone to depression. Children of optimists are more prone to be optimists. What do you choose to pass along? Even if your parents were negative, you can break the cycle with stopping, freeze-framing a situation, listening to the negative self talk, and then literally giving yourself a different message. Yes, this takes practice but you can make it a habit if you work it over time.

Ultimately, intelligent optimists understand that change and chaos are given. They know that “this too shall pass”. In the meantime, they CHOOSE to take whatever action they can within their own sphere of influence and then settle back. It is enough.

2006 Atlanta Braves Preview

2005 Overview:

Fourteen straight division titles speak volumes for the Atlanta Braves ability to field a competitive team year after year. 2005 was no different. Playing all year in a very tight NL East division, the Braves once again managed to reach the postseason with a 90-72 regular season record. The Braves exited early in the first round of the playoffs, losing in 4 games to the NL Central Houston Astros – but not before playing in the longest playoff game in history, an 18-inning, 5 hour and 50 minute epic battle which ended in the Astros advancing to play the Cardinals for the NL Championship.

The Jones boys led the offense once again in 2005. Outfielder Andrew Jones (.263 51 128), 3rd baseman Chipper Jones (.296 21 72) joined 1st baseman Adam LaRoche (.259 20 78), all star shortstop Rafael Furcal (.284 12 58) and 2nd baseman Marcus Giles (.291 15 63) to provide a fearsome starting lineup. Newcomer Outfielder Jeff Francoeur (.300 14 45) also impressed joining the team in July.

Pitching has always remained the strongest aspect of every Atlanta team over the past 15 seasons. In 2005 John Smoltz (14-7 3.06 230 innings) returned to the role.of starting pitcher after closing games between 2001-2004. The relief role was shared by several pitchers until the Braves acquired Kyle Farnsworth (1-1 2.19 16 saves) midseason. Starters Tim Hudson (14-9 3.52), Jorge Sosa (13-3 2.55) and Horacio Ramirez (11-9 4.63) also helped provide quality starts en route to the Braves 14th straight postseason appearance.

Off Season Moves:

Key Braves loses in the off season include Furcal to the Dodgers, Pitching Coach Leo Mazzone to the Orioles as well as closer Kyle Farnsworth to the Yankees. Former big leaguer Roger McDowell will assume the new role as pitching coach as Atlanta also picked up Edgar Renteria (.276 8 70) from the Red Sox to replace Furcal at short. Pitcher Lance Cormier (7-3 5.11) was also traded from Diamondbacks for Johnny Estrada in three-player deal.

2006 Analysis:

The Braves pitching looks to be shaky in 2006. Expect starter Mike Hampton to miss the entire 2006 season due to Tommy John surgery. John Smoltz will be 39 in May and his right shoulder was subjected to the strain of over 230 innings in 2005 while Tim Hudson has spent some time on the disabled list in both of the last two seasons. Losing Farnsworth leaves a big hole in the closers role. Lefty Horacio Ramirez is a solid fourth starter giving the Braves 200 innings that they badly needed last season. Expect Sosa to battle for the fifth spot in the rotation. Bottom line: John Schuerholz will need to get more bullpen help, including a legitimate closer, or the Braves are in serious trouble in 2006.

Offensively, although the loss of shortstop and leadoff hitter Furcal to the Dodgers was a huge blow All-Star and Gold Glove winner Edgar Renteria should see a resurgence in 2006, many believed Renteria had difficulties fitting in to the Red Sox team atmosphere but he did manage an impressive 70 RBI. It’s likely that 2B Marcus Giles will move up to the leadoff positive, with Renteria batting second in manager Bobby Cox’s newly retooled lineup.

Know Who Your Company Hires With A Background Employment Check

In an age of rampant documentation puffery and legal complications in dealing with employees, it’s more important than ever to know who you’re hiring. A basic background employment check can verify who the person you’re considering hiring really is and if their credentials match up with the application and resume.

Over the past few years pre-employment background checks have gained in importance for all employers no matter what the size. This is especially true of employers who are halos defense contractors or work for some aspect of the government. This would include security personnel at airports and even manufacturing people working on defense contracted parts for military equipment.

Companies typically do the validation and background check internally or outsource it to an investigation service. Either way brings a measure of due diligence that the company can relay on in the event that something negative should occur.

Background checks are typically done following the guidelines and requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This places effective limits on how far back someone can legally check and required the consent of the job applicant.

Companies are becoming much more aware of the problems disgruntled employees can have on the business. Further, the experience and educational claims of some applicants have been shown to be false or puffed up to the point of being almost unbelievable. Another reason for doing a more comprehensive background check is that lack of full disclosure from previous employers. A persons previous employer may actually be glad to be rid of them but wouldn’t be candid with you due to the possibility of being accused of any number of illegal statements by the applicant

Companies should therefore publicize and do background checks as a matter of policy on all applicants that are under consideration. By making the policy of background checks public, it puts job seekers on notice and may act to deter the level of inaccurate information on resumes and applications.

A standard employee background check verifies previous employment, social security number, education, personal references and military background if any, along with possibly driving and credit records. Along with this historical “credential check” a drug test administered by a local medical facility and paid for by the company may also be required. The level of checking is dependant on the job requirements. Security minded companies typically are much more careful about knowing who is being hired while others may only need a more cursory check. Hiring for someone who will be driving company vehicles would need a closer check on driving records than an office worker. Positions that entail financial access would naturally demand a careful check of credit references along with professional certifications.

How Prescription Diet Pills Work

Diet Pills come in three different varieties – prescription, over the counter (OTC) and herbal supplements. The only way to purchase prescription diet pills is with a medical doctors prescription. Prescription diet pills are tested and continually monitored by the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). You can purchase OTC diet pills at a drugstore, pharmacy, health food or vitamin store. OTC diet pills are still monitored by the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. To purchase herbal diet pills or dietary supplements at drugstores, supermarkets, vitamin and health food stores. The FDA considers herbal diet pills to be food products, which fall under the control of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition which is subject to different guidelines than the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.

For prescription diet pills to come on the market extensive testing has to occur which takes years of research. For that reason they are often the most effective products you can buy when you want to lose weight. They are however also the most expensive, and require a prescription from a doctor to obtain. For this reason they were not meant to help you lose 10 to 20 pounds before your next social outing. Prescription diet pills are meant to be taken by people who are so obese it is causing major concerns for their overall health.

Prescription diet pills work by using one of two primary strategies. They either surprising your appetite or blocking your bodys ability to absorb fat. Appetite suppressants do exactly what their name suggests they do, they stimulate your brain into thinking that your stomach is full. Specifically they target norepinephrine and serotonin which goes to the hypothalamus region in your brain, and creates the full stomach sensation. When you think your stomach is full you eat less you start to lose weight. A wide variety of commercial products from different manufacturers are designed to suppress your appetite.

Other Diet pills help you lose weight by blocking your ability absorb fat. The pills cause a reduction in the lipase enzyme. With less lipase your body has a limited amount of fat it can absorb. In recent months studies have shown other prescription medication used to treat depression or Alzheimers disease shows similar traits to the prescription drugs.

While prescription drugs may be some of the most effective products on the market they should only be used under the right circumstances and only when prescribed by a doctor.
